Help Plan the Future of Lake Berryessa - Take the On-line Survey

Lake Berryessa - Winters, CA (Napa County)

The County of Napa, in conjunction with Bureau of Reclamation, is contemplating re-development of five of the Lake Berryessa Recreation Areas as new, well-managed resorts open for public use. Ragatz Associates is assisting in the planning process. Ragatz Associates was chosen for its knowledge and experience in developing hotels, resorts and other recreational opportunities worldwide and will assist the County in identifying interested concession partners by marketing the opportunity to the resort community and performing a feasibility analysis to determine the best use of each site.

The five properties are now referred to as Berryessa Point (formerly Berryessa Marina), Monticello Shores (formerly Rancho Monticello), Putah Canyon (formerly Putah Creek), Spanish Flat, and Steele Canyon (formerly Steele Park).

Reclamation closed and demolished most of the resorts by 2009, and the sites have remained vacant ever since. It is now possible that several new resorts will be re-created at the lake. They will be well-managed and oriented to outdoor recreationists throughout northern California and beyond. We are requesting your assistance by completing the following on-line survey.

The survey should take only a few minutes, as all questions require simple check-off answers. Results will be extremely valuable for judging the interest of the public and in ensuring that Lake Berryessa again becomes a destination boating, camping and outdoor recreation resource of benefit to the greater Lake Berryessa community, all of Napa County, and the State of California.

All answers will be confidential and will be used in aggregate form only. Your questionnaire should be completed within the next two weeks. The online survey automatically prevents more than one response per computer source. To ensure that everyone in your household is able to complete the survey, each will need to use a separate computer or web browser to enter their responses.

The Lake Berryessa Chamber of Commerce encourages you to take the time to complete this survey. It is one of the most important things you can do for the future of the lake.
