GENERAL CONDITIONS

The Point Pinole Pier is having structural improvements being done, but is still open to the public for fishing. (Note: Benches and Windscreens have been removed temporarily).

The weather has been really rainy and windy these last couple weeks, and has kept most anglers away. We’ve heard reports of smaller keeper striped bass and a few perch being caught. Water has been very muddy. Fishing has been slow.

STRIPED BASS

Reports of a couple stripers being caught recently. Ranging 18-22 inches. All caught on Pile Worms fished on the bottom. Your best bet would be on the far half of the Pier in deeper water.

OTHER SPECIES

Very few sharks and bat rays. Jack smelt have been a no-show in the start of 2017, probably due to king tides, heavy rains and muddy waters.
