Good minus tides begin on December 12 offering anglers the best chance of hooking up with a keeper sturgeon. Striped bass to 6 pounds are thick for those dunking bait. The best areas to fish are the mouth of Sonoma Creek and the Petaluma River.

DELTA The calm weather conditions provide excellent opportunities to fish for either striped bass, sturgeon or salmon. Presently, there are good numbers of striped bass averaging 21 to 23 inches in length along with many undersized fish throughout the system. Most of the action is taking place at anchor tossing shad, mud suckers, cut anchovy and sardines.
