Steelhead fishing on the Klamath River has been slow. The last few times out we have only put a couple of fish in the boat. I think the constantly changing weather has really put the Steelhead bite on hold. Our weather has gone from 55 and sunny one day to 28 and spitting snow the next. These weather fronts are causing the barometer to go up and down which in turn has made the Steelhead fishing hit and miss. The fish that have been biting have taken a very slowly backtrolled crawdad plug or flies under an indicator. The weather today is windy mixed with the occasional rain shower and the temperature is 49 with a low of 35 this morning. This windy wet sort of cold weather is suppose to be here until this Tuesday, then starting Wednesday, we are suppose to see some sun and temperatures near 60 for the rest of next week.
