All of our local streams are providing action for local steelhead anglers this week. According to Mark Dingler at The Angler's Choice Tackle Shop in Capitola, fish were caught from the upper and lower San Lorenzo, and steelhead up to 12 pounds were caught from the lower Soquel Creek.
The North Coast Rivers are still clearing from snowmelt, according to our sources at Mad River Outfitters in Arcata. The Chetco and Smith Rivers seem to be the best bet right now, with all the other classic spots estimated to be fishable by Sunday.
