Trout Fishing

With the good weather the bite is back on the hotspots for the week were Scow Canyon, the Pines the Main Rec and Sandy Point. Power-bait was the popular bait in Garlic, and chartreuse.

Ed Warren of Fairfield caught 2 trout the largest weighing 3.51 using power-bait at the Main Rec on 3-25-16.

David Bixler and friend caught 7 trout the largest weighing 3.22 lbs no location or bait was given on 3-25-16.

Netto Lazaro of San Mateo caught 2 trout the largest weighing 3.89 lbs in Scow Canyon on 3-26-16.

Nelson Santos of El Sobrante caught his limit using night crawlers at the Oaks on 3-27-16.

Domimion, Megan and Katie of Walnut Creek caught 4 trout using power-bait at scow Canyon on 3-29-16.

Grayson Del Campo of Clayton caught a trout using garlic power-bait in scow canyon on 3-30-16.

Darren Scorser of Santa Clara caught 4 trout the largest weighing 2.25 using power-bait on 3-30-16.

Amiel and Xy of Sacramento caught 3 trout the largest weighing 4.0 lbs using mice tails at Sandy Point on 3-30-16.

Alisson and Adrain of San Francisco caught 5 trout the largest weighing 4.5 lbs using power-bait at the pines on 3-30-16.

Tony Huie of San Ramon caught a large mouth bass weighing 8.8 lbs using a drop shop across from the boat launch on 3-31-16.

Danny Asford of Brent wood caught 2 trout the largest weighing 3.53lbs at the Main Rec on 4-1-16.

Tom Klein of San Leandro caught 2 trout the largest weighing 4.72 lbs trolling a rapala at Sandy Point on 4-1-16.

Jose Gomez of Pinole caught a trout weighing 4.42 lbs using a power worm at the main rec on 4-1-16.

Bob Puett and Nancy Neff of Navato caught 10 trout the weight of the largest is 3.75 using power-bait fishing along the shoreline on 4-1-16.

Andrew and Rowena Wright of Vallejo caught 2 trout the largest weighing 5 lbs using garlic power-bait fishing off a boat on 4-2-16.

Park Information

The San Pablo Reservoir Recreation Area is now open for the season with the hours during April being 6:30 am to 7:00 pm and boats needing to be off the water by 6:00 pm. The Boat Launch area is open 7 days a week with snacks, drinks and tackle available. The Café is open the hours are 9:00 to 3:00 closed on Mondays.

Trout Fishing After the heavy rains the water has taken on a muddy appearance best to use bait with extra scent Scow Canyon seems to yield the most catches for the week mice tails, power-bait and power eggs are what are bringing in the fish no colors were reported but best bet is chartreuse, garlic, orange and chartreuse mice tails.
