Lake Conditions.
Lake Camanche's current elevation is 173.05 as of 07/26/15. Water temperature at the launch ramp is approximately 78 degrees. Inflow from Lake Pardee is temporarily at 11 c.s.f. and the outflow from Lake Camanche is currently 245 c.s.f. The flow into Camanche varies from 11 cfs to 800 cfs. as EBMUD generates electricity from Pardee's flow. At this time they turn on two of the three generating units periodically during the week. Each unit can deliver 400 cfs, thus the 11-800 cfs range.
Trout fishing has remained strong on the lake for those who know where to fish. Baits reported for trout this week were speedy shiners, rebel lures and shiny spinner.
Catfish have also been hot with several pulled from off shore North shore day use. No baits reported.
Brody & Bryson Berhorst ages 5 & 10 of Gilroy caught a 5.32 lb. squawfish and 4.32 lb. trout while fishing up river using rebel lures on 7/25/15.
Cory O'Brien out fishing with his brother Lindsey in some nice looking trout on Saturday 7/25/15. They were fishing about 40' down using shiny spinners out between Little Hat Island and the dam.
Alert!
Only one North Shore courtesy ramp is currently open while EBMUD is repairing the 2nd ramp. Both South shore ramps are open.
EBMUD Advisory!
We have been made aware by EBMUD that they recently sampled fish in a couple of land locked ponds that have surfaced as a result of the decreasing water elevation.
North shore pond is located in East Cove, behind Horse Island.
South shore land locked pond is located beyond the Monument RV park.
Both ponds are a number of acres in size and had black bass, crappie, catfish and bluegill according to an EBMUD official.
