“Perfect weather for fishing but it was a tough day at Camanche. 6 hours of fishing took home 6 fish, 1 fish per hour. All on speedy shiner 5-10 ft narrow and main lake. Tip of the week….I switch my treble to Mustad KVD Elite Series Triple Grip Hooks and my catch ratio has been very good. So far 11 out of 11, haven’t lost any fish at the boat like before. Solid hook ups!”

“Fished Camanche yesterday. We ran towards the dam, rods loaded with speedy shiners. Made a couple runs along the buoy line then shot towards little hat, then hat, then the main body and back again. 5 long hours, for nada. We finally pulled up and went to the narrows, changed my approach entirely. This time white grubs, and GVF spinbugs on the slow troll. I wasn’t even finished putting all the lines out and we had fish on behind the planner board on the grub. The next 3 hours was on fire compared to our morning. We ended with 5 fish in the boat, but I must of lost 6 or 7. After losing 3 in a row, I finally called it a day. I had enough. Jen caught the big fish at 3.7 pounds. All fish came on topwater. One grub line had a 1/8 oz weight, the other grub and spinbugs with flashers had no weights. The setback was 110ft on the grubs, 125ft on the spinners. 1.4mph.”
