It's summer time on the Delta and it's no secret that top water is the way to go. Buzz baits and frogs have drawn up the best action for me, I've missed a lot of fish but the bite to me is almost as fun as catching them. The key to the top water bite for me has been shade behind tully's or docks and clear water with a little current. After the bite dies I've been pulling off to the outside weed lines and drop-shoting good numbers of fish but all have been small. I also have had some luck with a white chatter bait and of course flipping is always a good way to go on the Delta. The temperature is on the rise witch will only make the frog bite that much better.Be sure and pack plenty of water and try not to have a heart attack when that big fish blows through the mat.
