Anglers chasing striped bass on both the Sacramento and Feather Rivers are doing extremely well, reported local guide Kevin Brock. "The striper bite on both rivers has been fantastic", observed Brock. "Last week during the storms, the Sacramento got too high and muddy, so we moved over to the Feather and got easy limits every day. For the past couple of days we have been back on the Sacramento again, and the fish are biting very, very well near Colusa. "We are seeing lots of stripers being caught on all the usual trolled lures, along with casting black plastic worms, drifting with live minnows, and even flycasting tackle. Most of the fish are still males in the four to eight pound range, but we have seen others catch a few larger females in the 15 to 18-pound class."

Brock added, "The river has been very crowded, especially on weekends, and we expect that the fishing will stay good for another solid week at least. We are also starting to see a few salmon and sturgeon rolling, and this week we even saw an albino wild turkey along the river."
