The lake rose to 8 percent of capacity, and fishing has been excellent some days and slow on others. Most of the spotted bass held in 15 to 30 feet of water, but there are still a few bass up closer to shore. Finesse techniques worked for 30 plus fish days when anglers found feeding schools of bass. Drop shot, Texas rigged straight tail worms, and deep diving crankbaits all worked for bites. Some of the bigger catches came on jigs. Catfish anglers soaked chicken liver, dip bait, and fresh shrimp for bites, and a few crappie fell for minijigs near the marina.
