The lake fell to 7 percent of capacity, and the bite has been incredible. Multiple anglers reported catching and releasing more bass than they could count. The quality was solid as well. The spotted bass are chasing shad throughout the lake, and almost any bait will work during the boils. Some of the favored baits have been shad pattern topwater, jerkbaits, small swimbaits, and underspins. Bass also picked up drop shot Robos, Ned rigs, and jigs near submerged cover. Spoons worked deeper in the water column after locating shad schools. The bluegill bite has been incredible on any live worm, and catfish ate chicken liver, dip bait, and cut anchovies.
