The lake dropped to 9 percent of capacity, and fishing was decent last week. Some anglers reported catching and releasing more than 20 bass in a single secession while other anglers reported being skunked. Morning topwater and reaction baits, like cranks and jerks, got bit until it warmed up. After that most anglers switched to finesse plastics in 10 to 30 feet of water. Some of the bass have been schooled up around bait balls, and vertical spoons work for a few more bites. Crappie anglers reported catching fish while using small live minnows near submerged rocks, and catfish went for cut baits and dip bait.
