The Upper Kern trout action remains very good here with limit style fishing throughout the 20-mile stretch. The flows are under 500 CFS and conditions are ideal. Anglers have been scoring fish with salmon eggs, spinners, crickets and minijigs from Riverside Park to Johnsondale Bridge. Fly anglers have been scoring with dry-droppers and nymphing. In the Lower Kern, trout continue to come out throughout the canyon, but at a slower rate this the previous week. Our contacts reported steady action with salmon eggs, Get Bent Baits, GULP! pinched crawlers and Powerbait. The Lower Kern Bass action has been solid the last couple weeks with minijigs, Senkos, jigs, and spinners. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River was flowing at 442 CFS and the Lower Kern River was flowing at 439 CFS.
