The lake held near 10 percent of capacity, and bass anglers reported good fishing. Most of the bass have been holding deeper, and anglers used a combination of finesse baits, swimbaits, and spoons to get bite. Drop shot, small jigs, and Neko rigs worked well in 10 to 20 feet of water with shad and brown colors doing the most damage. After locating shad schools’ anglers also fooled bass with vertical spoons. White bass were tougher to locate, but plenty of anglers reported them as bycatch while jigging spoons for spotted bass. Larger crappie have been going for spoons too. Catfish ate cut mackerel, dip bait, and chicken liver.
